We’ve Been Busy

Our late winter / early spring was fun and busy getting art classes off the ground. In the late Spring and early Summer we had to focus much of our time on the Innovation Yoga studio, working through expected (and unexpected) start-up and staffing learning curves. Both the yoga studio and the Art.Science spaces have been undergoing continuous facility upgrades. The yoga studio now has gallery-quality wall spot lights, so we are now starting plans for our first gallery openings later this fall. “Mr. Blue Fish” is the first piece of painting art to grace the walls – tell him what a pretty boy he is when you see him. The Art.Science space has a new ceiling-mounted projection screen for presentations. Both studios have new sound systems and our Internet service is finally reliable. Outside of the front doors we now have majestic cedar benches (hand crafted using recycled old growth cedar beams) for patrons to use before and after classes. It smells so good outside sitting on the benches! Have you noticed the fun entrance light over the yoga studio entrance - that constantly changes colors or the “gecko” night light on the yoga wall? She makes us smile whenever we see her. Our business signs are up on the plaza marquee, the building and our doors – tell us what you think about our logos. In the yoga studio our computer retail sales system is up and running, so we can now support art sales from our display cases (ask to see Deborah’s amazing bracelets and fun earrings). With the help of Laura Crawford we have opened an additional line of business selling DoTERRA Essential oils. Laura periodically teaches oils classes and her Wednesday evening “Wall and Aroma Yoga” is always amazing. Our sales system now lets you swipe your credit card at the front counter. In the Art.Science studio our Clover retail sales system is working – students can pay for classes; buy supplies, glass rods, tools, and more via check or credit cards. At last count we had 200 different glass rod types and colors and we try to stock many of those hard to find tools new students need to begin their glass bead-making journeys.
